Tanya Jones Terrell is the Director of Corporate Community Impact at BGE, responsible for overseeing the company’s workforce development and corporate relations efforts throughout Central Maryland.  She works with the team to establish key external partnerships, such as those with community organizations, historically Black colleges and universities, cultural organizations and other anchor institutions and works closely with Governmental & External Affairs and across BGE to ensure that BGE’s community impact strategy closely aligns with the needs and concerns of the communities in BGE’s service territory.

Tanya’s specific responsibilities include developing, leading, and executing strategic corporate giving programs, workforce development initiatives and developing and managing strategies that build goodwill, inform, and educate customers and other external partners. This includes a refinement of BGE’s local non-profit and business partnerships, evolution of the company’s external DEI initiatives, and the implementation of BGE’s local non-profit board placement strategy. Tanya has a wealth of experience in the nonprofit non-profit sector with specific expertise in workforce development following 17 years serving in system-level, direct service, and analytical roles in support of Baltimore’s workforce development ecosystem.

Tanya holds a Master of Science in Counseling and Development from Northeastern University and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Framingham State University. She serves on the board of directors for the Maryland Philanthropy Network, the Baltimore City Workforce Development Board and is a trustee for the Robert W. Deutsch Foundation.  She is also on the community advisory committee for the University of Maryland Baltimore County School of Public Policy and was recently appointed to the Apprenticeship 2030 Commission for the state of Maryland.
